Responsibilities

For this project I was both Lead Design as well as an Engineer.

  • Responsibile for full end to end experience of application and executing director's vision of what emotions the user should feel.
  • Collaborated with studio leadership to write full user flow and game design mechanics of experience, optimizing for our world building initiatives and storytelling themes.
  • Guided team through 1 on 1 meetings and daily rounds to keep direction of project consistent and carry out our director's vision. I was responsible for user comfort in all environments, settings, and interactions.
  • Pitched different interactions as well as different narrative flows for the storyline.
  • Prototyped out different hand mechanics and performed user tests to determine their feasability and comfort.
  • Wrote algorithms for final versions of pinching, poking, and gripping mechanics as well as perfected their feel and feedback.
  • Outcome & Skills Learned

Elixir was a big hit among OC6 guests! The queue line to see the experience averaged about 2.5 hrs, and the second day of the conference there was a stampede to see the experience. During this project I developed my leadership skills in guiding a large team of people with extremely diverse backgrounds. I communicated with our director, producer, and client often to manage expectations and act as a design and technical reference for any questions. Because of our efforts, this project was delivered early and exceeded expectations, it also was under budget and required little to no overtime of our teammates.
